HOLY THURSDAY
After he has washed the feet,
the priest washes his hands, and returns to the middle of the altar.
Pater noster is said in silence.
V. And lead us not into temptation. R. But deliver us from evil. V. Thou hast
given us Thine
precepts, O Lord, to be kept faithfully. V. Thou hast washed the feet of
Thine disciples. R. Do not
despise the works of Thine hands. V. O Lord, hear my prayer. R. And let my cry
come unto Thee.
V. The Lord be with you. R. And with Thy spirit.
Let us pray. O Lord, we implore Thee: assist us in this, our ministry : and as
Thou didst deign to
wash Thy disciples' feet, do not despise the works of Thine hands which Thou
hast bidden us to
continue. So that while our outward stains are being washed away, may the sins
of our heart be
blotted out by Thee. Deign Thyself to grant us this, Who livest and reignest,
God for ever and
ever. Amen.
V. The Lord be with you. R. And with thy spirit.
Offertory.
Psalm 117, 16-17. The
right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength : the right hand of
the Lord hath exalted me. I shall not die, but live : and shall declare the
works of the Lord.

Secret.
We beseech Thee, O holy Lord, almighty Father, eternal God, that our Lord Jesus
Christ, Thy
Son, may make our sacrifice acceptable to Thee, Who on this day commanded His
disciples to
celebrate it in memory of Him. Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of
the Holy Ghost...
