ORDINARY OF THE MASS

The Canon.

The priest bows down and kisses the altar; he then blesses the oblation and prays for the Church
militant, especially for those who are present at the mass.

WHEREFORE, O most merciful Father, we humbly pray and beseech Thee, through Jesus
Christ Thy Son, our Lord, that Thou wouldst vouchsafe to receive and bless these gifts,
these offerings, this holy and unblemished sacrifice. These in the first place we
offer up to Thee for Thy holy, catholic Church, that it may please Thee to grant her peace, to
protect, unite and govern her throughout the world : together with Thy servant N..., our Pope, and
N..., our Bishop, and all true believers and professors of the catholic and apostolic Faith.

Remembrance of the Living.
Here remembrance is made of the living, for whom priest
and faithful desire especially to pray.

BE mindful, O Lord, of Thy servants and handmaids N..., and .N..., and of all here present, whose
faith
and devotion are known to Thee : for whom we offer, or who offer up to Thee this sacrifice of
praise for themselves and theirs, for the redemption of their souls, for the hope of their safety
and salvation and who now pay
their vows to Thee, the eternal, living and true God.

Remembrance of the Saints.

Priest and faithful unite themselves with the saints in heaven
who constitute the Church triumphant.
IN holy fellowship with, and venerating the memory first of the glorious Mary ever virgin, Mother of
our God and Lord Jesus Christ : likewise of Thy blessed apostles and martyrs : Peter and Paul,
Andrew, James, John, Thomas, James, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew,
