ORDINARY OF THE MASS

This act of Confession, made with faith and humility, obtains
for us the pardon of our venial sins.
I confess to almighty God, to blessed Mary ever Virgin, to blessed Michael the Archangel, to
blessed John the Baptist, to the holy apostles Peter and Paul, to all the saints, and to you,
father, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word and deed, through my fault, through my
fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore I beseech blessed Mary ever Virgin, blessed
Michael the Archangel, blessed John the Baptist, the holy apostles Peter and Paul, all the saints,
and you, father, to pray to the Lord, our God, for me.
The priest implores of the divine mercy pardon for the faithful.
V. May almighty God have mercy upon you, forgive you your sins, and bring you to life everlasting.
R. Amen.
He crosses himself, saying :
V. May the almighty and merciful Lord grant us pardon, absolution and remission of our sins.
R. Amen.
Bowing down, the priest continues :
V. Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life.
R. And Thy people will rejoice in Thee.
V. Show us, O Lord, Thy mercy.
R. And grant us Thy salvation.
V. Hear, O Lord, my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto Thee.
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.
The priest ascends to the altar, saying :
Let us pray. Take away from us, we beseech Thee, O Lord, our iniquities, that we may be worthy to
enter with pure minds into the holy of holies. Through
Christ, our Lord. Amen.
