ORDINARY OF THE MASS

PRAYERS AT THE FOOT OF THE ALTAR.

The priest goes to the altar and says aloud, alternately with
the server :
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Ghost. Amen.
V. I will go unto the altar of God.
R· Unto God Who giveth joy to my youth.

Confiteor.
(I Confess).
The priest makes the sign of the cross, saying :
V. Our help + is in the Name of the Lord.
R. Who hath made heaven and earth.

Bowing down profoundly, he accuses himself of his sins :
I confess...

The server, in the name of the faithful, implores of the divine
mercy pardon for the priest :
R. May almighty God have mercy upon thee, forgive thee thy sins, and bring thee to life everlasting.
V. Amen.
In their turn server and faithful accuse themselves of their sins .
