ORDINARY OF THE MASS
King, God the Father almighty. O Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son. O
Lord God, Lamb of
God, Son of the Father, Who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon
us. Who takest away
the sins of the world, receive our prayer. Who sittest at the right hand of the
Father, have
mercy upon us. For Thou only art holy. Thou only art Lord. Thou only, O Jesus
Christ, art most
high, together with the Holy Ghost, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
The Instruction.
The priest kisses the altar
and invites the faithful to pray with
him.
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.
He goes to the
right side of the altar and says : Oremus Let
us pray. Then he reads
The Prayer of the Day.
The priest now reads the
Epistle of the day, the Gradual, Tract or Alleluia.
At the end of the Epistle, the server responds :
R. Thanks be to God.
Bowing down over the
middle of the altar, the priest prepares
himself for the reading of the holy Gospel.
CLEANSE my heart and my
lips, O God almighty,
Who didst cleanse the lips of the prophet Isaias with
a live coal: vouchsafe of Thy gracious mercy so to cleanse me, that I may
worthily proclaim
Thy holy Gospel.
Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
PRAY, Lord, a blessing. May the Lord be in my heart and on my lips, that so I
may meetly and
fitly
announce His Gospel. Amen.
