ORDINARY OF THE MASS

Simon and Thaddeus, Linus, Cletus, Clement, Xystus, Cornelius, Cyprian, Lawrence, Chrysogonus, John
and Paul, Cosmas and Damian, and all of Thy saints, by whose merits and prayers grant that in all
things we may be defended by the help of Thy protection. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The priest extends his hands over the oblation.
WE therefore beseech Thee, O God, mercifully to accept this oblation of our servitude, as also
of
Thy whole family, and to dispose our days in Thy peace;
and bid us to be delivered from eternal damnation, and to be numbered among the flock of Thy elect.
Through Christ, our Lord Amen.

The priest blesses the oblation which he is about to consecrate.
WHICH oblation do Thou, O God, vouchsafe in all things to bless + approve + ratify
make worthy and acceptable : that it may become for us the
Body and Blood of Thy most beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Consecration.

The priest re-enacts the Last Supper. Like Jesus in the Last Supper, he takes the host, and
afterwards the chalice, raises his eyes to the cross, giving Thanks co God, makes a cross over
the host and the chalice, pronounces the very same words our Lord once spoke, and The great
mystery has taken place.

Consecration of the Host.

WHO the day before He suffered, took bread into His holy and venerable hands, and with His
eyes lifted up towards heaven, unto Thee, God, His almighty Father, giving thanks to Thee, blessed
broke and gave to His disciples, saying : Take and eat ye all of this. FOR THIS IS MY BODY.
The priest elevates the Sacred Host, and shows It to the faithful.
